CTA opublikowalo nowe ceny na bilety autobusowe i kolejki w Chicago. Od 1 stycznia, 2009 r. cena za przejazd autobusem lub kolejka wynosi $2.25 jezeli oplata odbedzie sie gotowka. Ceny biletow nie zmienia sie dla uzytkownikow kart  Chicago Card and Chicago Card Plus, lub tych ktorzy uzywac beda 7 dniowych lub 30 dniowych biletow.

Dnia 11 listopada, 2009 roku Gubernator stanu Illinois Pat Quinn podpisal umowe z przedstawicielami: The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA), Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), Metra and Pace - oferujac im stanowa pomoc za nie podnoszenie oplat za przejazdy autobusami ani kolejka. Podwyzki za przejazdy zostaly zamrozone na 2 lata. Wedlug obietnic CTA nie beda podniesione oplaty w 2010 ani 2011 roku.

Nalezy miec drobne pieniadze przy zakupie biletow w autobusach. Kierowca autobusu nie rozmienia pieniedzy. Na stacjach kolejki w maszynach, niektorych bankach i sklepach  lub na linii mozna zakupic  bilety 1 - 30 dniowe. 

Oto niektore miejsca gdzie mozna doladowac do biletow wielorazowych lub nabyc nowy bilet:

  • Chicago-Union Station (Metra BNSF, Heritage Corridor, Southwest Service and Milwaukee District lines, and all Amtrak service—vending machine located in Metra ticket area)
  • LaSalle Street Station (Metra Rock Island District terminal)
  • Millennium Station (Metra Electric lines & NICTD South Shore Line terminal)
  • Ogilvie Transportation Center (Metra Union Pacific lines terminal)
  • Van Buren Station (Metra Electric lines & NICTD South Shore Line station)
     
  • CTA Headquarters: 567 W Lake St, 2nd Floor Sales Center (Chicago)
     
  • Currency Exchange: 79th/Jeffery, (Chicago)
  • Dominick's #1086: 3350 N. Western Ave., (Chicago)
  • Dominick's #1130: 2101 E. 71st St., (Chicago)
  • The Museum of Science and Industry (inside main entrance area off of Museum Drive)
